As a freelancer, I have found that networking is the single best way to meet great likeminded people in business and it gives you a great chance to get your name out there. Whether it is attending informal breakfasts, meet-ups, or maybe it’s Meet Draw (an event held in Bournemouth and Poole) – it’s a superb chance to hold conversations with potential clients, or to showcase some of your work to people “in the know”.
These were great at showing off a product or service, in a very unique and portable way.
I recently attended a breakfast at the Hilton Hotel in Bournemouth, and mid-slurp of my first coffee, I noticed that a number of “exhibitors” at the event came not only armed with their business cards, and flyers – but also with their roll-up banners too. These were great at showing off a product or service, in a very unique and portable way. Although they are not a new invention by any stretch of the imagination, the use of these banners is exploding due to the increased number of free networking events that are becoming available to freelancers and fellow professionals.
As a person who is a graphic designer as well as a web developer, I have found myself not only using these at events for Website Right, but I also offer roller-banners as a complete service to local companies. This means I create the art-work for the banner, imagery, and also – I will print AND deliver too – all for a single set fee, usually with a 48 hour turnaround too!
My roller banners are very durable and also include a light carry case for easy transportation. The banners are 80cm wide by 200 cm in height – and are printed on 300mic polypropylene – which is a very strong and flexible plastic material. You can opt for a single sided roller banner for a traditional look that is often seen at exhibitions, however if you’ve got people coming at you at all angles, you can go double sided to provide more of an impression.
I am fanatical about providing useful web experiences, via bespoke websites which engage, inform and entertain. I have been making websites since a young age, and am a keen supporter of AFC Bournemouth.
